So so interesting to actually see the results first hand. Personally being someone who identifies as a leftist and a Messi fan, I was surprised to see how the bias plays even across ideology.

Good work Gaspard!

the reason for south asian believing in religion is different in this study is probably due to keralites. The most south asians are from india, and they are mainly from kerala (football fans)most developed part of india, and ruled by a communist government. So most probably the difference came from there and north east India

Great work!

I'm considerably right-wing (politically) but I've honestly never felt any of these correlations in my football opinions. I don't really have a preference between them but I believe Messi is the better overall player. Maybe one thing is that I didn't like Ronaldo's "arrogant" personality when I was younger but I equally respect them. Based on purely watching both (obviously I can't watch the exact amount of 'goodness' from both players), I just think Messi is the better footballer.

It is interesting, all the different aspects and their correlation to football opinions but obviously the human mind and its opinions, thoughts, ideas are so complex in the way they are formed

I’m from India and there’s a huge Fan base for Argentinian football team here. Maradona factor, even The jersey colour ( Indian cricket team has Blue jersey as well) etc influences people to choose to be a Argentina fan here, and most of them are Messi fans.

Also there’s a huge fan base here for Brazil fans as well. And ironically they support Cristiano Ronaldo instead of Messi.

Maybe you can add this factors to survey. That is, rivalry between Brazil and Argentina. Also I feel like you neglected the factor that Messi was not that successful in international football until he won the so called Copa-America in the end of his career. Also How he won trophies and scored goals in the same league with the same Club throughout these years while the journey of Ronaldo and Clubs were diverse. I hope you will consider these as well maybe next time.
